What is Stop-Limit Order?
A stop-limit order combines a trigger with a limit price. When the price hits the stop level, the order activates as a limit order rather than a market order, so it will only fill at your limit price or better. This avoids a terrible fill in a fast move, but it risks not filling at all if the price gaps straight past your limit.
Why Stop-Limit Order matters
It trades the certainty of a stop order for price protection, which can leave a position open if the market jumps.
