What is Limit Order?
A limit order sets the worst price you are willing to accept: a buy limit fills at your limit price or lower, a sell limit fills at your limit price or higher. It controls the price but does not guarantee a fill, because the market may never reach your limit. Limit orders rest in the order book until they fill, expire, or you cancel them.
Why Limit Order matters
It gives you price control and avoids surprise fills, at the cost of possibly never executing.
