What is Fees?
Fees are the various costs of trading and holding positions beyond the price of the asset itself. They include commissions, exchange and regulatory fees, data subscriptions, financing or borrowing charges, and the cost baked into the bid-ask spread. Together these make the real cost of a strategy higher than the headline price moves suggest.
Why Fees matters
The full set of costs decides whether an apparent edge survives once everything is paid, so they belong in any honest test.
