What is Contract Multiplier?
The contract multiplier is the money value of a one point move in a futures contract's price, set by the exchange. CME Group's E-mini S&P 500 is $50 times the index and its Micro E-mini is $5 times the index, so a 10 point move is worth $500 or $50 per contract.
Why Contract Multiplier matters
The multiplier turns a price move into dollars, and it is the number you need to size a futures position.
