What is Candle Wick?
A wick, also called a shadow, is one of the thin lines sticking out above or below a candle's body. The upper wick reaches up to the high and the lower wick reaches down to the low. Wicks show prices that were touched during the period but did not hold, since price moved back toward the close.
Why Candle Wick matters
Long wicks reveal where price was rejected, which can hint at where buyers or sellers stepped in.
