What is Oversold?
Oversold describes a reading, often from an oscillator like RSI, that says price has fallen quickly and is stretched to the downside. Like overbought, it measures momentum, not certainty about what happens next. Markets in a strong downtrend can remain oversold for a while.
Why Oversold matters
It flags a fast drop, but a low reading alone is not a reason to expect a bounce.
