What is Herding?

Herding is following what many other investors are doing, mainly because they are doing it, rather than because of your own analysis. Studies of brokerage records find that individual investors' trades are strongly correlated, with many buying and selling the same stocks at the same time.

Why Herding matters

By the time a crowd has piled into a trade, much of the move it hoped for may already be in the price.
